Editor's Note, KG: Intrepid connoisseur, Nicole McLuhan, details her summer journey across the Halifax hot dog landscape. Ten dogs, all alike in company, In fair Halagonia, where we lay our scene, From ancient goal break to new glizzy-dom, Where hot dog stuff makes civil hands unclean.

The Dogs Rise Again

1: Stillwell’s Classic Dog (August 13) 👑

Insane upgrade on their buns since the beginning of the summer. Great weiner to toppings proportion. Overall, fantastic experience.

2: Stillwell’s Chicago Dog (June 12)

Classic flavours that I love. A pickle on top of relish is gehttps://www.barstillwell.com/nius. This was before their bun upgrade in August.

3: The BG’s Hawaiian Dog (July 4)

Fantastic flavour - loved the sweet and spicy profile that came with the pineapple toppings. But, not enough weiner and too much bun (a sin that all BG dogs unfortunately face).

4: The Good Robot’s Dog (May 28)

Good flavour, unique toppings, but not very complex flavours. Too sour to rank any higher, but the weiner itself was spectacular.

5: Stillwell’s Big Mac Dog (June 12)

Too much shredded lettuce - aesthetic got in the way of function. The sweetness of the cheddar and wiener were a nice touch though.

6: The BG’s Elote Dog (July 4)

Popcorn on a hot dog is so slay; very scrumptious and unique. But, again, small wiener and big bun 👎

7: Hali Deli’s Hali Dog (August 28)

Great weiner, toppings, and flavour BUT the cheese made the bun so soggy that everything fell out the bottom 😢

8: Dave’s Lobster’s Hot Dog (July 1)

The cheese was nice at first but proved to be too greasy, resulting in a big tummy ache. But, the bun was well toasted and the wiener was delicious.

9: The BG’s Ballpark Dog (July 4)

Just okay!

10: DQ’s Chili Cheese Dog (June 7)

Little shopping treat at the mall. Pretty gnarly tbh
